Rap supergroup Migos made TRL history this week, as one of the first acts to perform on MTV’s revamp of the classic music show Total Request Live.
The trio, hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, took over Times Square on TRL’s outdoor stage to perform the single “Too Hotty,” exciting a new generation of viewers. The trio even received love during the performance from rap’s most recent breakout female artist and Offset’s girlfriend, Cardi B.
The original Total Request Live aired on MTV from 1998 to 2008, and has returned to midday television with new hosts, games, and performers. Ed Sheeran also performed on the premiere of the revamp.
Migos joined Motown Records as a joint venture with the label Quality Control Music. Motown and Quality Control have been named “hip-hop power players” by Billboard, and Migos have been nominated for BET, MTV, and Billboard awards since the release of their debut album Culture in the beginning of 2017.
Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff were featured on the single “Too Hotty” by Quality Control Music, which will appear on Quality Control’s soundtrack.
