Motown headed to Miami for a night during one of the hottest weekends in music–the BET Hip-Hop Awards. The label hosted a star-studded night at Soho Beach House with Motown artists including Stefflon Don, Yung Miami of the City Girls, JAMESDAVIS, and more. Sports journalist Jemele Hill also stopped by for a night with some of the music industry’s most exclusive executives and artists.
The title of the event, “Motown Doesn’t Respond to the Conversation–It Sets the Agenda,” is reflective of Motown’s near 60-year history as hitmakers that continues to foster the artists that innovate the sound of the evolving music industry. As the label’s 60th anniversary approaches in 2019, it continues to push the agenda for hip-hop and R&B culture in the same way it did at the label’s inception with soul music.
