NE-YO released his new single “Push Back” featuring label mate Stefflon Don and singer, songwriter, and record producer Bebe Rexha. This is the second single released by the singer/songwriter this year, following  “Good Man,” which premiered just before Valentine’s Day.

NE-YO, known for his swoon-worthy melodies and thoughtful lyrics, is back from a brief music hiatus to continue to tell the R&B stories that launched his expansive career. In an interview with Genius, he expressed his feelings towards R&B in 2018 and describes the balance between singing love songs and maintaining a hard exterior, like 1990s R&B group Jodeci. “Nowadays, cats look at it is as corny, or whatever the case may be, and it’s just because for whatever reason everyone on the face of the planet suddenly wants to be so hard.”

When he wasn’t in the studio, NE-YO became a family man, expressing his love for his wife of two years Crystal Smith and three children, with a fourth on the way. The single “Good Man” was entitled as such, as NE-YO plans to bring back what it means to be a good man in every aspect of a man’s life. “This album is kind of a lead by example in regards to what it is to be a good husband to your wife, a good boyfriend to your girlfriend, a good brother to your brother and just a good guy to the world,” he told Ebony magazine in a recent interview

Aside from family and music, NE-YO has been busy with World of Dance, a dance show that celebrates all forms of the art from around the world. The show will be back for season two on May 29, airing on NBC.

Stefflon Don is a singer, rapper, and songwriter from the UK. Her British accent and use of patois adds a bold stamp to the Motown roster and further broadens the scope of musical talent within the label. Stefflon Don has released the singles “Hurtin’ Me” featuring French Montana and “Ding-A-Ling” featuring Skepta since signing to the label in 2017. She has also been featured on a number of tracks, including the MC Fioti smash “Boom Boom Tam Tam,” featuring Future and J Balvin, and “Better” by label mate Lil Yachty.
